If you're as short on closet space as I am, you could use a little space between the hangers on your closet rack. This tip takes a simple soda can tab and turns it into a tool that doesn't just keep like items together, but also spaces hangers out a bit so they don't all bunch up on the rack.
The idea is simple: just loop the soda can tab on one of the coat hangers (this will only work if you have the kind that the tab will fit over), let it fall all the way down to the neck of the hanger, and then loop the top of the second hanger through the other side of the tab, like in the photo above. You're not actually saving space in the closet, but it does keep the hangers from bunching up next to each other on the rack. Plus, if you like to keep a specific pair of pants with a shirt, or tie with a shirt, this is a great way to keep them together. To see more photos of this tip in action, hit the link below.
